"2016 August Weekend in Washington County" Trip Report

Some of the highlights included finding a Sabine's Gull among 5-7,000 Bonaparte's Gulls and hundreds of Black-legged Kittiwakes; quality time with a Spruce Grouse; Fin and Minke Whales; lots of shorebirds; and both the best lobster rolls and tacos in the state!

9/21 was a big migration day here at the store. 2 BLACKPOLL WARBLERS and 1 YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER were seen in the yard. But, the highlight was our hawkwatch. In just over 2 hours we counted 752 BRO

Our 3rd ever DICKCISSEL (immature female) showed up at the feeding station on 9/10! 20 species visited the feeding station this week. House Sparrow: 34 Rock Pigeon: 29 House Finch: 9 Mourning Dove: 8

Unfortunately, there will not be Saturday Morning Birdwalks on September 16th, 23rd, or 30th. However, we'll see you on Monhegan for tours on two of those weekends!
