March 18th Covid-19 Response and Policy Updates (Store and Tours, etc).

Part I: The Store, including eStore updates.

Part II: Trips and Events, including Birdwalks.

This new policy statement usurps all previous statements and policies, taking into account the most recent scientific and medical evidence and Center for Disease Control and State of Maine advisories and regulations. We apologize for any inconveniences, but this is our best effort to keep everyone safe while also encouraging folks to enjoy birds and birding in this time when

fresh air and quality time with nature is as important as ever.

Part I:

After a few trial runs in the past days, we have set some new policies and parameters that go into effect immediately.

The store remains open from 10-6pm, 7 days a week for the time being.

However, we are strongly encouraging the use of our free services and urge you to limit your time within the store as much as possible:

A). Free delivery for any order over $25 to the towns of Brunswick, Cumberland, Falmouth, Freeport, North Yarmouth, Pownal, Topsham, and Yarmouth. Deliveries will be made on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons. Please call in your order at this time (see eStore info below), 865-6000.

B) Curbside pick-up. Call us, pay over the phone, and we’ll have your order ready for pick up when you get here. We’ll bring your goods right out to your car.

C) Estore orders. In the coming days we will continue to add products to our eStore, (, beyond our normal core products that are already included. We’ll prioritize additions based on our most popular products and things in our kid’s department that are educational and interactive for those out of school at the moment. You can expect the first wave of new products to be listed by the end of the day, Thursday, March 19th. Unfortunately, we are unable to wave the automatic shipping calculator to offer free delivery. Therefore, please use the eStore to browse, and if you qualify for free delivery, call us directly and we’ll complete the order over the phone.

D) Don't forget we offer pre-buy accounts all year long for your shopping convenience. Pay once and we'll debit your account for in-store or delivery orders.

Part II: Trips and Tours.

A) In respect of the CDC advisory to eliminate groups of more than 10 people, we are cancelling free SATURDAY MORNING BIRDWALKS through the end of March. We will address April in the coming weeks.

B) FEATHERS OVER FREEPORT has been cancelled for 2020, as all state park events throughout the state are cancelled through the end of April by state order.

C) WOODCOCKS GONE WILD on April 4th has been cancelled.

D) The BIRDS ON TAP-ROADTRIP: Spring Ducks and Draughts! on April 5th has been cancelled.

E) May events, including Birds on Tap – Roadtrip: Warblers and Wort! and the new Songbird Workshop with DownEast Adventures, are still open for reservations for the few spots still available. Of course, full refunds will be offered if these too need to be cancelled.

Please don't hesitate to call or email with any questions, comments, or concerns. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Derek and Jeannette (and Marc and Scott, too!)
