2018 Spring Monhegan Migration Weekend Trip Report


Our annual “Monhegan Spring Migration Weekend” battled highs seas to arrive on the wonderful island of Monhegan on Friday, May 25th. Five days later, I had two new birds for my Monhegan list, a total of 97 species including 18 species of warblers, and way too much of the best pizza in Maine. Feeder Birds This Week: 9/25

The first WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW (immature) was seen feeding under the feeders on 9/24. And a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER is feeding from our Nutsie block. 21 species visited the feeding station this week. R

Feeder Birds This Week: 9/18

Migrants in the yard this week included BLACK-AND-WHITE and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS on 9/13. The first of fall WHITE-THROATED SPARROW arrived on 9/16. 20 species visited the feeding station this week.
